June Medical Camp - July 4th, 2025

Hello everyone, and Happy Independence Day!

On June 21st and 22nd, 2025, Village Wellness sponsored their second annual medical camp conducted by GRR & R Trust since the pandemic.

The first day of the camp was a free eye checkup for students, and was from 11 AM to 2 PM. This camp aimed to screen kids for vision issues. Isha brought old eye glasses from the US and the optometrist was able to round the prescriptions on them to people who needed it. Everyone else was given vitamin A tablets for their eyes. All in all, 60 students were seen in the clinic.

The second day of the camp was for the general public, to treat their general ailments, such as hypertension, diabetes, and musculoskeletal issues, and this camp was from 10 AM to 3 PM. This year, about 120 patients came to the clinic to be checked out by the various doctors we had at the clinic. In addition to gynecology, general medicine, and optometry from last year, we also had a pediatrician and an endocrinologist who saw patients. All patients were triaged and went to get their blood pressure, vitals, and other symptoms checked by Isha and her father. Translated brochures were handed out to patients with hypertension, diabetes, and musculoskeletal issues like back pain. They were also put into poster form and hung up around the clinic.

The camp could not have been organized without the effort of Mr. Gurjala Srinivasa Rao, Mr. Anjaneya Charyulu, Mr. Goparaju Subba Rao, Dr. Meena, Dr. Mary, Dr. Ramamohana Rao, the endocrinologist, and the pediatrician. We thank them for their tireless work and look forward to many more medical camps in the future!
